After the rain, Tumbletail scampered through the garden.

His tiny paws brushed wet leaves. His fluffy tail bounced behind him.

Then he saw something shining under the roses.

It was a forgotten blue teacup.

Rainwater filled it nearly to the top. A yellow petal floated on the water.

Tumbletail’s eyes grew wide.

“A teacup pond!” he squeaked.

Tumbletail found a curled leaf.

He placed it gently on the water.

“Float, little boat, float!”

The leaf wiggled. It tipped.

Plip-plop!

Tumbletail pulled it back out.

He tried a smooth piece of bark.

“Float, little boat, float!”

The bark stayed up. But it spun in circles.

Round and round it went.

Tumbletail giggled until he felt dizzy.

Next, he found an acorn cap.

He set it on the pond.

“Float, little boat, float!”

The little cap bobbed perfectly.

Tumbletail clapped his paws.

He had made a boat!

Mina, a small green frog, hopped near.

She blinked at the teacup pond.

“May I have a turn?”

Tumbletail nodded.

Mina tucked her feet inside the acorn boat.

Tumbletail gave the boat one gentle push.

Swish, swish, swish.

Mina sailed past the yellow petal.

She waved one tiny webbed foot.

“This pond is just my size!”

Then Pip, a little brown snail, slid closer.

“I would like to sail too,” he said.

Tumbletail looked at the acorn cap.

It was too small for two.

His ears drooped.

Tumbletail took a slow breath.

He looked around the garden.

Leaf, bark, acorn cap.

Then he had an idea.

“We can make a bigger boat together!”

Mina held the bark steady.

Pip brought a long blade of grass.

Tumbletail tied the grass around the bark.

“Float, little boat, float!”

They placed it on the pond.

The bark boat floated straight and strong.

Mina sat at the front. Pip sat in the middle. Tumbletail sat at the back.

Together they sailed one tiny circle.

Swish, swish, swish.

The friends laughed beside the roses.

When the sun came out, the teacup sparkled.

Tumbletail curled his tail around his friends.

Their little pond felt wide as a lake.
