This Privacy Policy explains how Polkadot Puddle Press (“we,” “us,” “our”), which operates the PuddleTales website at polkadotpuddle.com (the “Service”), collects, uses, and shares information. If you have questions, contact us at polkadotpuddlepress@gmail.com.
A note for parents & guardians (children’s privacy)
PuddleTales is a bedtime-story service made for families. We take children’s privacy seriously and have designed the Service to collect as little about children as possible:
- We never collect photographs of children. Personalized stories are created from a short written description only.
- Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or guardian (an adult). Children do not create their own accounts.
- To personalize a story, a parent may provide a child’s chosen first name or nickname, an age range (not an exact date of birth), and described appearance details (such as hair color or whether they wear glasses). We do not require a child’s full legal name.
- We record that the account holder gave parental authorization before a child’s details are used.
- Parents can review, edit, or delete their children’s profiles at any time from their account, or by emailing us.
Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Account details — your name, email address, and a password (passwords are stored in a hashed, unreadable form). We use your email to verify your account and send service messages.
- Membership — if you join the Storytime Club, we keep your subscription status and a customer reference from our payment processor.
- Child personalization profiles — as described above (name/nickname, age range, described appearance, optional notes). No photos, no exact birthdates, no full legal name.
- Orders & purchases — the items you buy, amounts paid, your name and email, and — for physical items — the shipping address and phone number needed to deliver, plus any name you ask to have printed on a gift.
- Activity on the Service — stories you open, favorites, ratings, and reading progress, so we can provide features like “continue reading.”
Payment information: Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly under its own privacy terms.
Cookies & similar technologies:
- Essential cookies keep you signed in and let the site work. These are always on.
- Analytics & marketing (such as Google Analytics, and pixels from Meta, Pinterest, or TikTok) load only if you consent via our cookie banner, and are never active on children’s story pages. You can change your choice at any time.
How we use information
- To provide the Service — accounts, reading, memberships, purchases, and personalized books.
- To process orders and deliver digital and physical products.
- To send service messages (verification, receipts, order and shipping updates, password resets).
- To keep the Service secure and prevent misuse.
- With your consent, to understand usage and improve the Service, and for marketing.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run PuddleTales, and only as needed:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Printify — printing and shipping physical gifts (receives the item details and your shipping address).
- Resend — sending our emails.
- Cloudflare, Vercel, and Supabase — file storage, website hosting, and database hosting.
- Analytics & advertising providers you enable (e.g., Google, Meta, Pinterest, TikTok) — only subject to your cookie consent.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the public. If our business is ever transferred, information may transfer as part of that transaction.
Your choices & rights
- Access & update — view and edit your account details and child profiles anytime while signed in.
- Delete — delete child profiles, or ask us to close your account and delete your personal information, by emailing polkadotpuddlepress@gmail.com.
- Marketing — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time; service messages (like receipts) will still be sent.
- Cookies — accept or decline non-essential cookies via the banner.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information (for example, under laws such as the California CCPA). To exercise any of these rights, email us at polkadotpuddlepress@gmail.com.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information, except limited records (such as order and tax records) we are required by law to keep for longer.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and encrypted storage of sensitive keys. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your information is processed and stored in the United States.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date; significant changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
