The moon rose over the rooftops and reached for a favorite pillow. The pillow was gone.

Without the soft pillow, the moon could not settle into its comfortable nighttime place.

“Soft and round, where are you found?”

First, the moon searched above the chimneys.

Only warm curls of smoke drifted there.

“Soft and round, where are you found?”

Next, the moon checked the treetops.

Owls blinked from the branches, but no pillow waited.

“Soft and round, where are you found?”

Then, the moon looked behind a row of silver clouds.

One small cloud was puffier and quieter than all the rest.

The missing pillow had not disappeared. It had floated into the cloud family and changed shape.

the moon paused and looked again. A small detail that had been easy to miss now seemed important.

The first idea had not been wasted. It showed what needed to change before the next try could work better.

In a peaceful night sky above village rooftops, the dim lights, soft clouds or blankets, quiet sounds, and slow breathing offered more clues without making the problem feel frightening or too large.

Everyone moved more slowly, lowered their voices, and allowed the quiet to grow.

“Soft and round, where are you found?” The familiar words helped everyone remember the plan and move through it in the same steady order.

This time, the moon checked the result before moving on. The difference was small, but it clearly pointed toward the next choice.

The group compared what happened now with what happened earlier. One useful pattern began to appear.

Instead of throwing away the whole idea, the moon kept the part that worked and changed only the troublesome part.

The soft cloud tucked beneath the moon, and both settled into a gentle curve.

Stars dimmed, rooftops quieted, and the moon rested on the softest pillow in the sky.
